July Development Launch Schedule

July 31st, we are planning on launching a few upgrades to the site:

1) Tagging Category Pages
This will let us treat category (branch) pages like content (leaf pages).
This will also allow chapters to put all their category pages in the top-right corner as navigation of their chapter site.

2) Blogging
Yay! Want a uwalumni.com blog? Let me know.

3) New Server
We are going to cluster 2.5 servers to run the site to eliminate a majority of "Page Unavailable" errors when the server load gets high.

Regarding the WAA Web Dev blog:
1.the list of action items is too cryptic, each entry needs an explanation about the function that it represents in terms that Chapter Leaders can understand, i.e. what the function means to them in terms of their Chapter website and webpages, or Newsletters, or Directory.
2. why can't this list be set up as a Forum on the http://waachapters.ning.com/ website. Setting up another "blog" seems like setting up yet another interactive forum that Chapter Leaders need to figure out.

Gerry, this material isn't built specifically for chapters; it's for everyone. Thus, hiding it in a chapter-leader-only ning space doesn't make a lot of sense. If you want the material in a forum because you'd like to send feedback, you can feel free to comment here or email it to me, Deb and/or Joe.
